Despite all of its flaws and I found myself enjoying the game.įrom what I've found there's lots of different ways you can tackle the game. I never felt compelled to use the hunting system and so it just sort of became a thing I knew I could do, but never felt like I wanted to due to the lack of incentive. The honor system never really played a role because the effects of low or high honor were very minimal. I could have all 4-5 star gear and the game would still call me level 35. The leveling system for your character also makes no sense. You just shoot whoever you're fighting until they're dead. The game never felt tactical, despite all of its mechanics put in place to do just that. I went through some of the characters and never even used their unique abilities because there was never a time where it would've been effective and I often forgot to use them in the heat of the moment. I liked the diversity of the characters you play as, but you never play as them long enough to get used to them. In late game this can net you a thousand plus gold depending on how many you've sold her over the course of the game. In Grackle you can sell the doctor all of your nimp heads and at night you can open her windows and steal them back. I discovered that money wasn't an issue while playing as the Werewolf. After an hour or two, I felt that I had seen most of what the game had to offer. The map felt small and exploring felt forced rather than left up to the player. Don't get me wrong the games concept is awesome, but I feel like the execution was somewhat lackluster. We only see the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the world that is Weird West. The game feels a bit shallow in its storytelling. Just finished playing through Weird West and I have to say it was interesting.
